Fishing through the ice here in Maine right now does not get much better! The weather has been fantastic with several days in the 40's and it looks like that trend will continue. Most place have over 18" of ice with very little snow/slush on top, making for easy going and very enjoyable days!
I've been to a few different places and all have been very productive. In the past month I've managed to pull up a few salmon, brook trout, a couple splake, a brown trout, and several good sized pike. Flags have been going up constantly making for a busy day on the ice. I picked up a nice new fish finding unit with a flasher mode that has led to some nice perch on the jig rod. With still another solid month of good ice conditions there is still time to book an ice fishing trip.
If fishing on the ice is not your cup of tea, spring is right around the corner! Get your fly fishing or trolling trip booked now for the best available dates. I will be adding a calendar to the website for ease of booking. Check out my fly selection, which is constantly growing, and gear up for spring!
